WA State Guard Association

The Washington State Guard Association (WSG-A) provides assistance in support of the Washington State Guard (WSG). It sponsors morale boosting events and subsidizes funding for needed materials that are not covered in the budget.

The Washington State Guard Association (WSG-A) is an ‘open-membership’ association that provides financial support to the missions and morale of the Washington State Guard. The Washington State Guard is the state’s authorized Militia (Title 13 Annotated Code of Maryland) that supports the mission, men, women and families of the Washington Army and Air National Guards.

The mission of the Washington State Guard Association (WSG-A)

Mission Objectives:

•    Sponsor and promote federal and state legislation in support of state military forces.

•    Facilitate cooperation between state defense forces, the Department of Defense, the National Guard Bureau, and active/reserve federal forces.

•    Establish and promote uniformed and professional WA State Guard force standards.

•    Facilitate and promote the exchange of best practices between state defense forces.

•    Educate public officials and communities of the benefits of establishing and maintaining the WA State Guard.

•    Support WAmstate guard recruitment and retention programs.
